Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the Maersk ETA Batch Tracker browser extension handles information. The extension's core tracking function works without DraftApps analytics.

1. Core shipment tracking

Tracking references entered by the user are used locally by the extension to open the corresponding public pages on www.maersk.com and read tracking information already rendered in the browser.

DraftApps does not receive or store Maersk tracking references, container numbers, departure dates, ETA values, shipment contents, page text or search contents. The browser communicates directly with Maersk for the user-requested tracking operation. Maersk's own terms and privacy information apply to that communication.

2. Optional usage analytics

Usage analytics are optional and are not necessary to use the extension. On first run, the extension shows a clear disclosure and asks the user to choose whether to enable analytics. No analytics identifier is created and no analytics request is sent until the user actively chooses Support the developer with anonymous stats.

If enabled, the extension may send the following to https://monitor.draftapps.it:

• a technical event type: extension install, popup open, extension update or consent revocation;
• the extension version;
• the event timestamp;
• a random installation identifier generated with crypto.randomUUID().

The random installation identifier is pseudonymous. It is not derived from a name, email address, Google account, Maersk account, device fingerprint or advertising identifier.

3. Information we do not collect

• Maersk tracking references or container numbers;
• departure dates, ETA values or shipment details;
• browsing history or visited URLs unrelated to the user-requested Maersk tracking pages;
• names, email addresses, Google accounts or authentication credentials;
• typed text, form values, searches, clicks or session replay;
• advertising identifiers, device fingerprints or precise location;
• raw error messages, page payloads or full stack traces.

4. Purpose and legal basis

Optional analytics are used only to measure observed active installations, extension adoption, version distribution and operational reliability, so DraftApps can maintain and improve this extension. They are not used for advertising, profiling, marketing attribution, resale or cross-site tracking.

Where the GDPR applies, the legal basis for this optional processing is the user's consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Access to or storage of the analytics identifier on the user's device occurs only after the user's consent, consistently with applicable ePrivacy rules.

5. Permissions and data flow

The extension requests access to www.maersk.com because its single purpose requires reading the public tracking pages requested by the user. The extension declares host access to monitor.draftapps.it because Chrome requires host permission for cross-origin HTTPS requests from extension pages and service workers. This permission enables the technical connection only: no analytics identifier is created and no analytics event is sent until the user explicitly enables analytics inside the extension.

Analytics are transmitted over HTTPS. The analytics backend is designed to transform the random installation identifier using a server-side HMAC before persistence. The raw browser identifier must not be stored in analytics tables.

6. Retention

Pseudonymous installation/activity data is retained for no longer than 180 days after the last recorded activity. Aggregate statistics that no longer identify an installation may be retained for up to 24 months. Operational/server logs should be minimized and are not used to build user or installation profiles.

7. Sharing and processors

DraftApps does not sell analytics data and does not share it with advertising platforms, data brokers or marketers. Data may be processed by infrastructure providers used to host DraftApps services, acting only as necessary to provide the service and subject to applicable data-protection safeguards.

8. Your choices and rights

You can enable or disable analytics at any time from the extension popup. Disabling analytics immediately deletes the local random installation identifier and stops future analytics requests. The extension also makes a best-effort request to revoke the corresponding pseudonymous analytics identity when the analytics service is reachable.

Where applicable, users may exercise rights under data-protection law, including withdrawal of consent, access, erasure, restriction and complaint to a competent supervisory authority. Because DraftApps does not know the user's real identity from the analytics identifier, some requests may require information sufficient to locate the relevant pseudonymous record without collecting unnecessary identity data.

9. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information handled by the extension is used only to provide or improve the extension's disclosed single purpose and related operational reliability.

10. Changes to this policy

If the extension's data practices materially change, the change will be disclosed before the new collection begins and the privacy policy will be updated. A new consent may be requested when required.
